This privacy policy explains what personal data is processed when you visit preunec.de, on what legal basis, and what rights you have under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Your rights

Subject to the applicable legal requirements, you have the right at any time to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you (Art. 15 GDPR)
  • Have inaccurate or incomplete data corrected (Art. 16 GDPR)
  • Have your data deleted (Art. 17 GDPR)
  • Request restriction of processing where we may not yet delete your data due to legal obligations (Art. 18 GDPR)
  • Receive your data in a portable format (Art. 20 GDPR)
  • Object to our processing of your data (Art. 21 GDPR)
  • Withdraw any consent you've given, with effect for the future, where processing is based on consent

Hosting & server log files

When you visit this website, our hosting provider automatically collects information your browser transmits in so-called server log files: IP address, date and time of the request, name and URL of the file retrieved, the referring website (referrer URL), the browser used, and, where applicable, the operating system. This data is processed solely to ensure stable operation, monitor load, and defend against attacks (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, legitimate interest), and is not combined with other data sources.

SSL/TLS encryption

For security reasons and to protect the transmission of confidential content, this site uses SSL/TLS encryption. You can recognise an encrypted connection by the lock icon in your browser and by the address bar switching from "http://" to "https://".

Cookies & local storage

Technically necessary entries in your browser's local storage save your cookie choice and a small number of display preferences (e.g. reduced motion); without these the site cannot provide its core functions (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). You can change your choice at any time via the cookie notice at the bottom of the screen, or by clearing your browser data. Any other, non-essential cookies are only set with your consent.

Analytics

With your consent ("Accept all"), we measure site usage ourselves — first-party, with no third-party script in your browser. Your browser stores a random session identifier in local storage (localStorage), and each page view is recorded as an event with the page visited, its content type, the referring domain, that session ID, and — where it can be determined — your country (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR for the session ID; Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, legitimate interest in aggregate usage statistics, for the rest). Your IP address is never stored, but is briefly processed server-side: hashed with a salt for rate-limiting and de-duplication, and — only if our hosting doesn't already supply a location header — sent to the external geolocation service ip-api.com to determine your country, which may involve a data transfer outside the EU/EEA that we don't control. Recorded events are deleted once no longer needed for these purposes, and are only ever visible in our own access-controlled admin dashboard — never shared with or sold to anyone. Choosing "Necessary only" keeps this measurement fully disabled.

Contact form

If you contact us via the contact form, we process the data you provide (name, email address, optional phone number, message) solely to handle your enquiry and any follow-up correspondence (Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR). Delivery happens by email via our email service provider, Resend; your details are not stored in a database on our website. The data is deleted once it is no longer needed for the purpose it was collected for — at the latest once the conversation is concluded — unless a legal retention obligation requires otherwise.

Career applications

For speculative or role-specific applications, we process the data you provide in the form (name, email address, optional phone number, the position selected, your message, and an uploaded CV as PDF, DOC, or DOCX) to carry out the recruitment process (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR in conjunction with § 26 BDSG). Your CV is sent once as an email attachment to the relevant team and is not permanently stored on the web server. If you apply for a role that isn't currently being actively filled ("future opening"), your application is tagged accordingly and kept on file for a possible future opening until you object to further processing or the process is conclusively closed. Once a recruitment process concludes, your data is deleted subject to statutory retention periods.

Internal admin area

To maintain this website's editorial content (blog posts, module and career-position management, admin sign-in, activity log), we use Firebase (Google Ireland Limited) as a processor. These systems are only accessible to authorised preunec staff and do not process any data from website visitors.

External links & social media

In a few places, our website links to external services such as LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, X (Twitter), or WhatsApp. Clicking such a link takes you away from preunec.de; data processing on those third-party platforms is governed by their own privacy policies, over which we have no control.

Right to lodge a complaint

Without prejudice to any other administrative or judicial remedy, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, in particular in the member state of your habitual residence, place of work, or the place of the alleged infringement, if you consider that the processing of your personal data infringes the GDPR.

Changes to this policy

We update this privacy policy whenever the legal requirements, the services we use, or our data processing change. The version published on this page at the time of your visit applies.
